Monday Properties' Jennifer Burns Recognized as a Standout Real Estate Industry Leader with Awards from Bisnow and ConnectCRE

Monday Properties is pleased to announce that Executive Vice President of Operations, Jennifer Burns, has been honored with two prestigious real estate industry recognitions: Bisnow’s DMV Women Leading Real Estate and Connect CRE’s 2024 Women in Real Estate. These awards acknowledge Burns’ significant impact on the real estate sector, her effective business strategies and her outstanding leadership at Monday Properties.

Bisnow will celebrate Burns and her fellow DMV Women Leading Real Estate honorees at an event in Washington, DC on November 14th. Bisnow bestows its DMV Women Leading Real Estate award annually, highlighting the incredible contributions of exceptional women in commercial real estate who are transforming the industry with their dedication, expertise and leadership.

Connect CRE announced Burns and her fellow 2024Women in Real Estate award winners across its national audience in October. Each year, Connect CRE honors women whose talent, work ethic, leadership and innovation have helped them succeed and become influential in commercial real estate. Chosen from among more than 400 submissions across the country, Burns was selected as a winner for the Washington, DC region.

“Jennifer’s leadership, strategic insights and hands-on guidance are producing tangible solutions and value for our partners, stakeholders and the companies who entrust us with their real estate needs,” said Tim Helmig, Managing Partner at Monday Properties. “These well-deserved recognitions – along with those that have preceded them – underscore Jennifer’s ability to blend innovation with practical execution.”

These awards follow closely on the heels of Burns’ recognition earlier this year as one of the Washington Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business” for 2024.  Selected out of a competitive field of hundreds of nominations from Greater Washington’s business and nonprofit sectors, winners represent a diverse group of industries, backgrounds and jurisdictions from around the region. Burns and her fellow honorees will be celebrated at an event held in Washington, DC on October 30th.

At the helm of Monday Properties' vast office portfolio, Burns oversees five million square feet of space. Her role encompasses managing property operations, information technology, and marketing. Her innovative approach to enhancing tenant experiences has earned her various industry accolades. She champions wellness initiatives, securing certifications such as Fitwel, LEED, and Energy Star, while consistently delivering premium amenities that set new standards in the commercial real estate sector.

“I am honored to be recognized by both Bisnow and Connect CRE– and earlier this summer by the Washington Business Journal – for the outstanding, impactful work of our team at Monday Properties,” said Burns. “We’ve taken an innovative approach to reinventing the modern office, with sustainability initiatives, tenant amenities and technological integration at the forefront of our business strategies. I am proud of our achievements as we continue to push boundaries and develop optimal office locations.”

In the past 18 months alone, Burns has been instrumental in negotiating nearly 60 leases, totaling 450,000 square feet of office space in the greater Washington region. These deals include several headquarter relocations and significant market transactions. In addition, she has overseen $20 million worth of capital improvements across multiple Class-A office assets, including 1812 North Moore Street, The Towers, Three Ballston Plaza and Park Plaza.
