by Paul Bubny

New York, NY - January 7, 2010 - In line with a steady stream of recent leasing activity at Monday Properties’ 230 Park Ave., the owner and developer says it has signed executive search firm James & Co. and renewed a lease for investment firm Capital Link. The two deals combined total more than 10,000 square feet.

Specializing in the media, entertainment and technology industries, James & Co. signed a new seven-year lease for 7,280 square feet on the 34-story tower’s ninth floor. Matthew McBride, SVP at CB Richard Ellis, represented James & Co.

Capital Link’s existing lease of 2,940 square feet has been extended for seven more years. Mark Lauzon, senior director at Cushman & Wakefield, negotiated on behalf of the tenant. In both deals, Monday Properties director Jordan Berger and a CBRE leasing team including EVP Paul Amrich represented the landlord. Asking rents were not disclosed.

A release from Monday notes that leasing activity at 230 Park Avenue has been “very active” lately, with signing and expansions including Stanley Hand Tools, Encyclopædia Britannica, New York Court of Appeals Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman, Forensic Investigative Associates, Orion Consultants and Westrock Advisors. Monday acquired the 1.4-million-square-foot office tower, also known as the Helmsley Building, in a partnership with Whitehall for $1.15 billion in late 2007.
